"The
making of"
At the beginning of 2005, Melanie renewed ties with her songwriter and producer Bob Poole from England with a view to a new recording project. Since the release of her last CD five years earlier, Bob had been writing a collection of songs specifically for Melanie to sing and at last they both found enough free time from their busy schedules to begin to work together again.
The first thing was to choose from a collection of over seventy songs the ten tracks that would finally become the album. Next was to recruit the musicians. To this end, Bob and Melanie called upon the best of the professional players that they had contact with in Europe and rehearsals began. Five intensive weeks later the band moved into the studio to begin pre-production sessions. Another month went by and recording in earnest began.

As the collection of songs chosen for the album ranged from Ballads to
Jazz/Blues to melodic rock, the musicians were
required to call upon all their skills to
reproduce the sound and feel that was necessary to
give a true interpretation of the songs and
provide Melanie with a platform to exercise her
vocal talents to the full.
Working together with co-producer Jens Fecher, Bob Poole proceeded to wring every last drop of feeling, emotion and artistic interpretation from Melanie and the musicians and delivered a final set of performances that have already received a highly positive critique from both sides of the world.
Eight months later the final mixes were mastered and the CD was ready to go. Mike Kauss, a highly talented graphic designer was recruited from Germany to provide the artwork for the inlays and the Website; a photo shoot was set up at the Whiskey A Go Go bar in Hanau, Germany and brainstorming sessions were carried out over a period of weeks until the final layouts were agreed upon.
The official release date for the CD in Europe will be Thursday March 23rd 2006 and a CD launch will take place on that date in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. From there negotiations will proceed for and American release later this year.
